My Journey:
After 30+ years in the counseling field, I paused and asked myself: "If you could focus on the one thing that you most like to do as a psychologist, what would that be?" The answer was a loud: Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I first encountered EFT over 20 years ago when I went on a search for training in couples counseling. I was fortunate to discover Dr. Sue Johnson and her work in EFT and embarked on intensive training. In 2008 I became Certified as an EFT Therapist and in 2010 as an EFT Supervisor. I then created a training program for doctoral interns in EFT at WSU. I am active in the Eastern Washington/North Idaho Community for EFT whose mission is to train therapists. I currently see a small number of couples in my practice in Moscow, Idaho, and am excited to be focusing on consultation, writing, and teaching to help therapists learn Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and also to strengthen their resilience as therapists.
